Hi! I’m Yasmine, the creator behind Discover SketchUp – welcome, I’m so glad you’re here! My mission is to share valuable resources, tips, and inspiration to support you on your SketchUp journey.
My own passion for SketchUp started with a love of design that I’ve had since childhood. As a lifelong HGTV fan, I’d watch shows like Fixer Upper, amazed by Joanna Gaines’ team and the way they transformed clients’ visions through beautiful digital renderings. I wondered: How do they create such vivid, realistic previews?
Eager to learn, I dove into research and discovered SketchUp. I turned to YouTube, devouring hours of tutorials and experimenting on my own. Soon, I was captivated by the endless possibilities SketchUp offers to bring design ideas to life. Around the time that I discovered SketchUp I also entered school to get my degree in interior design so that I could turn this hobby into a career, and that is exactly what I did.
I’ve had the pleasure of working in luxury residential interior design studios where SketchUp was a daily essential. I’ve collaborated with real estate developers, helping them secure RFPs by creating visuals that showcase their vision for future projects. I’ve also partnered with real estate professionals to craft images for listings, giving potential buyers a glimpse of the space’s true potential.
Five years in, SketchUp is still one of my favorite design tools. I use it for 2D elevations, floor plans, 3D models, construction documents, and more! These experiences have shown me just how powerful SketchUp can be, and I can’t wait to share that power with you on Discover SketchUp!
